Senior Weld Technician – Holland, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with an automotive manufacturing company in Holland, Michigan to fill their Senior Weld Technician position on the team. In this role, you have technical responsibility for the welding technician team. You will also be developing standardized processes, outlining new equipment specifications, and building a preventative maintenance plan for the equipment.

What you will get to do:
  • Lead the Welding Technicians and take technical responsibility for that team
  • Build a preventative maintenance process for the equipment
  • Create a complete standardized process to hand off to the operators on production
  • Outline the specifications and standardization of new equipment coming into the plant
What will make you successful:
  • Experience in product launch into production
  • Understanding of the front-end customer weld specification, break outs, etc.
  • Experience working with a variety of material types and bonding, specific experience with steel preferred
  • Previous experience with resistance welding, spot welding, MIG and robotic welding
  • Problem solving skills to take a product apart and figure out a process to achieve consistent welds
  • Driver mentality to see the end goal and keep the big picture in sight throughout the process
  • Familiarity with Fanuc and Allen Bradley controls or Siemens
  • Must understand weld schedules and the difference between a good and bad weld
