Solutions Designer – Grand Rapids, Michigan
Disher is currently partnering with a global, material handling and logistic solutions company on their need for a Solutions Designer in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be collecting and analyzing technical data to determine project requirements and preparing information in regards to specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times. You will also be responsible for providing services in research, design, development, and concepts.

What you will get to do:
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate quotation work. Gain a complete understanding of the quotation requirements including, data analysis, material flow, information flow, equipment selection, system layout, and performance criteria.
  • Analyze customer specifications and prepare/coordinate technical content of proposals.
  • Analyze data to support material handling ideas and concepts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and complete quotation file.
  • Develop skills and cost reduction methods in the areas of proposal preparation, and new equipment application or design.
  • Understanding of bulletins, blueprints, and CAD Drawings, with the ability to exchange this information with customers and associates.
 
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in material handling system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of ASRS, conveyor design, sortation design, data analysis techniques, and processes used in material handling.
  • Willingness to travel 40% of the time, including international travel.
