Controls Engineer – Spring Lake, Michigan

Disher is currently partnering with a global, material handling and logistic solutions company on their need for a Controls Engineer in Spring Lake, Michigan. In this role, you will perform all activities associated with controls design, engineering, and on-site implementation of material handling equipment.

What you will get to do:
  • Understand controls hardware/software design and implementation.
  • Prepare and utilize subsystem installation, commissioning test procedures, and checklists.
  • Provide support for subsystem electrical installation, interface testing, training, and startup supports.
  • Configuration, testing, troubleshooting, debug and implementation of controls hardware and software.
  • Support standard product bed controls.
  • Can do the equipment/subsystem commissioning of controls hardware and software, HMI, and SCADA.
  • Understand codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL, CUL, CE and local/regional and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
 What will make you successful:
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Material handling experience a plus.
  • Experience in programming PLCs.
  • Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Effective communication both internally and with customers.
  • Willingness to travel, including international travel, from 20-40%.
