New Product Development Engineer – Grand Rapids, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with a medical device manufacturer in Grand Rapids, Michigan to help find the right New Product Development Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will work through the development and design efforts for new products at the company and guide multiple projects through the launch process.

What you will get to do:
  • You will design strategic new products for use in the medical field
  • You will get to project manage between 3 and 5 projects, all in different stages of the launch cycle
  • Use your creativity, mechanical aptitude, and ideation to influence the new product development
  • Travel to China at least once per year, depending on launches
 
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design; 7-10 years of experience preferred
  • Experience in project management or project leadership
  • Strong experience in CAD, preferably SolidWorks
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and disciplined to be successful in projects
  • Previous experience in the design of plastic products is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of FDA requirements and ISO 13485 is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to be hands-on and jump in to help other teams (Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) as needed
  • Ability to communicate with other cross-functional teams to help with other's projects.
  • Must have a current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
