Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Grand Rapids, Michigan 

DISHER is currently partnering with a leading automotive supplier in Grand Rapids, Michigan to fill their Advanced Manufacturing Engineer role on the team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the production ready manufacturing process to manufacturing and evaluating and improving the manufacturing methods to provide maximum efficiency.

What you will get to do:
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency
  • Run-offs of equipment at vendor to get production ready
  • Deliver the production ready manufacturing process
  • Work with maintenance and operators to run and maintain equipment, manage the budget, lay out projects and establish milestones that will get the equipment ready for production
  • Responsible for cycle time activities, error proofing and scrap reduction once it is on the floor and operating
  • Coordinate equipment and manufacturing reviews with a cross-functional team to secure buy-off from internal and external customers on assembly machines and processes
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or similar Engineering program
  • Hands-on manufacturing floor experience
  • Controls Engineer expertise including PLC and robotics programming
  • Experience in plastic injection molding, thermoforming and die casting
  • Automotive industry experience would be beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find the root cause
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers
  • Interpersonal skills and enjoyment for working with other people and teams
