Apprentice Program Manager – Grand Rapids, Michigan

Disher is currently partnering with a global material handling and logistic solutions company on their need for an Apprentice Program Manager in Grand Rapids Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying apprenticeship candidates, preparing and delivering course materials, and liaise with other departments and business units to schedule and provide training opportunities.

What you will get to do:
  • Systematically plan the training steps according to the training goals.
  • Support the apprentices so they reach their training goals.
  • Provide apprentices feedback regarding their training and ask other departments to provide feedback as well.
  • Develop and report critical measurements and indicators of success.
  • Promote the apprenticeship program by representing the company at specific events as well recruiting apprentices.
  • Provide training in Controls Engineering.
  • Manage day to day operations of apprenticeship program including scheduling and administrative tasks.
What will make you successful:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Material handling experience preferred.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and experience with controlled drives and bus systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development and delivery of technical training programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, presentation, and project management.
  • Knowledge of European style manufacturing apprenticeships and German fluency a plus.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
