Purchasing Engineer – Grand Haven, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with a lighting design and manufacturing company in Grand Haven, Michigan to fill their Purchasing Engineer position. In this role, you will evaluate and quote suppliers during the product development process as well as manage procuring material, equipment, tools, parts and services for the company.

What you will get to do:
  • Locate and verify domestic and international suppliers to support new products, technologies, services, etc.
  • Partner with suppliers on internal and external tool design approval, cost and timing
  • Track purchases, monitor vendor quality and maintain database with up to date vendor information
  • Work cross-functionally to assist in Product Development and speed to market initiatives
  • Ensure that cost reduction performance is kept to the specified plans
  • Track new supplier performance measures including quality, delivery, and lead-time
  • Manage the supply chain base including external and internal tooling to ensure on-time completion
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Engineering background in Process or Product Engineering with experience in supply-chain preferred
  • Previous experience in process development or tooling
  • Ability to multi-task and handle 4-5+ projects at a time
  • Analytical, engineering mindset with a "driver" mentality to push projects through to completion
  • Solid communication skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers
  • Skilled negotiator preferably with previous experience in tooling and processing
  • Alignment with company values and goals
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
