Assembly Automation Engineer – Greencastle, Indiana
DISHER is currently partnering with a tier one automotive supplier on their search for an Assembly Automation Engineer in Greencastle, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting production lines, increasing efficiencies and decreasing scrap in the plant. The successful candidate will be hands-on and on the manufacturing floor up to 80% of their day troubleshooting equipment and working with your team to continuously improve production.

What you will get to do:
  • Implement new automation systems and processes
  • Troubleshoot downtime of equipment and machines
  • Develop and improve line layouts and making line modifications
  • Assist with new model activities
  • Oversee capital equipment projects, including monitoring timelines and budgets
  • Lead and participate in Lean Kaizen events
  • Perform Poka-Yoke validation and equipment specifications
  • Perform TACT Time studies
  • Work to improve current issues, assist with launches, safety needs, equipment installations, trial runs, mold releases and will communicate with manufacturing engineering and production associates
  • Establish manufacturing process costs and rates
What will make you successful: 
  • Engineering degree is preferred or commensurate experience
  • 5-10 years of experience working in manufacturing assembly environments (automotive preferred)
  • 3+ years of plastic injection molding experience preferred
  • Understanding of machinery, materials, processing, and troubleshooting for injection molding preferred
  • Experience implementing process improvements
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with electrical, robotic, and PLC troubleshooting preferred
  • Proficient computer skills a must (Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD)
  • Coaching mentality with a desire and willingness to teach others
  • Self-motivated and driven personality
  • Enjoy problem solving and finding a solution
