Quality Engineer – Grand Haven, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with a lighting design and manufacturing company in Grand Haven, Michigan to fill their Quality Engineer position. In this role, you will develop quality documentation, facilitate continuous improvements, and work with suppliers, internal processes and customers to resolve quality and system issues.

What you will get to do:
  • Support the product development process by developing PPAP and APQP documentation
  • Lead and initiate activities to reduce PPM and to meet corporate PPM goals
  • Interface with the customer and facilitate the resolution of quality issues and concerns
  • Gather, analyze and communicate quality date used to determine corrective actions to improve quality
  • Ensure all quality milestones are met during the launch phase
  • Develop and maintain control plans, gage instructions and inspection criteria
  • Maintain all communication with the customer relating to quality
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience in the automotive or furniture industry
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Specific Program Development experience including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, GR&R
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO9001 and TS16949
  • Experience leading problem-solving teams and activities
  • Exposure and experience with agile product management (scrum)
  • Paint, metal or casting experience, and electrical experience is beneficial
  • Project Management skills
  • Comfortable and ability to work hands-on on the floor
  • Communication skills to communicate internally with the team and external with customers.
  • Comfort with freedom and autonomy to just "go" and develop
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
