Quality Engineer – Holland, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with an automotive manufacturing company in Holland, Michigan to fill their Quality Engineer position on the team. In this role, you will assure quality in all phases of the manufacturing process and preventing defects through problem analysis and effective corrective actions.

What you will get to do:
  • Ensure the development, launch and maintenance of the Quality Systems in order to meet quality levels of the ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949 standard.
  • Lead Corrective Action meetings and present closure to management
  • Develop Quality Alerts and implementation of any quality sorting from customer site to internal sorting
  • Act as the point of contact for the customer when concerns arise
  • Partner with manufacturing departments in developing their Control Plans and Work Instructions
  • Participate in cross-functional APQP meetings to review open issues and activities which need to be resolved
  • Verify the training effectiveness of departmental team members during start-up phases
  • Review and approve supplier PPAP’s and trial runs
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field
  • 3+ years of experience of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Automotive experience is beneficial
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 quality systems
  • Strong Problem Solving / Corrective Action background
  • Working knowledge of APQP
  • Familiarity with the tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management
  • Experience in all elements of PPAP
  • Ability to read part drawings and use inspection tools as needed
  • Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America
