Controls Engineer – Holland, Michigan

DISHER is currently partnering with a lithium ion battery manufacturer in Holland, Michigan to fill their Controls Engineer role. In this role, you will lead a launch with a global OEM, program and troubleshoot PLC controls and HMIs while partnering with the team to make sure equipment is operational to prevent downtime.

What you will get to do:
  • Lead a launch with a global OEM
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC controls and HMIs for proper function
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Lead verification of electrical safety in equipment design for equipment launch
  • Modify and develop electrical and electronic drawings (AutoCAD) for equipment and facilities
  • Partner with the manufacturing engineers to keep equipment drawings current and accurate
  • Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineers on downtime
  • Keep equipment operational by working with maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
  • Ensure customer expectations and KPIs are exceeded by partnering with Engineering and Maintenance
What will make you successful:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or other Engineering Discipline
  • Proficient in PLC Hardware and Software and HMIs (Allen Bradley), Robotics, Communications (TCP/IP, DeviceNet), conveying systems and electrical distribution
  • Experience using RS Logix500, RS Logix5000
  • 5+ years of experience in a plant manufacturing environment
  • Ability to troubleshooting and make design improvements to varying manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, write reports, business correspondence, and manuals
  • Technical knowledge to provide leadership to the team, but also work autonomously
  • Solid communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from management teams
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
