DISHER is currently partnering with a tier one automotive supplier on their search for a Kaizen Continuous Improvement Manager in Greencastle, Indiana. This position is responsible for using Six Sigma methodology to manage and direct the activities of the plant Continuous Improvement (CI) department.
This position will be responsible for implementing new and/or revised process requirements, maximizing efficiency in the use of equipment and manpower. Must be able to determine and establish systematic improvements that will promote and sustain long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with overall business strategies and initiatives. Leads all plant quality functions through strong leadership and provides direction, coaching, goal setting and training.

What you will get to do:
  • Lead plant-based CI team providing daily direction, mentoring, coaching and development to ensure the continued success and development of the CI team
  • Drive lean practices throughout the plant to include Six Sigma projects, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5s, and improvement workshops
  • Work closely with the plant leadership team, using systems to identify improvements to support profit planning process and reach set benchmark performance
  • Develop and measure KPIs related to improvement initiatives
  • Ensure Standard Work is in place for all processes within the operation
  • Ensure Visual Management is deployed throughout the operation to monitor scrap performance and effectiveness of daily activity versus customer demand and efficiency goals
  • Identify organizational barriers and recommend solutions to the leadership team
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure production goals are monitored and adjusted based on efficiency improvements
  • Lead weekly meetings with plant leadership team to present how the CI team is driving profitability improvement
  • Lead monthly meetings with plant leadership team to present progress to meet short, mid and long-term business improvement goals
  • Manage reporting of CI team progress to set deliverables
What will make you successful: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field preferred (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical) or commensurate experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading Kaizen/CI activities within a manufacturing environment required
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
  • Plastic injection molding experience preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) certification preferred
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in driving change within a challenging business environment
  • Information and material flow mapping experience critical to success
  • TS audit experience
  • Experienced practitioner of lean tools
  • Capacity planning
  • Coaching mentality with a desire and willingness to teach others
  • Self-motivated and driven personality
