Mechanical Product Engineer - Cost Reduction

Mechanical Product Engineer --  Zeeland, Michigan   
Disher is partnering with a West Michigan based industrial automation firm in their need for a full-time Mechanical Product Engineer for their facility in Zeeland, Michigan.   

The Product Engineer will support the continuous improvement, cost reduction, and refinement of the company’s standard products during and after launch.   
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models, drawings, and other documentation to complete Product Changes or Revisions within the Quality Management System. 
  • Update FMEA’s, control plans, and other standard product quality documentation for Product Changes or Revisions. 
  • Manage and implement Product Changes once they are approved by the Product Manager. 
  • Participate on the launch teams of Standard Products as an engineering resource. 
  • Perform testing and validation of Product Changes and Revisions. 
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Cell Leaders and service team to identify product quality issues and recommend Product Changes or Product Revisions to improve quality. 
  • Work with Supplier Development, Manufacturing Cell Leaders, and suppliers to identify cost drivers for standard products and recommend Product Changes or Product Revisions to reduce cost. 
  • Implement Product Revisions in conjunction with Manufacturing Cell Leaders. 
  • Provide Mechanical Engineering support to sales and service teams for the company’s standard products. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.  
  • 5+ years with engineering standard products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to gain consensus and move projects through process.  
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and experience with Solidworks. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills in order balance multiple priorities and to meet timelines and deliverables. 
  • Experience with product testing and verification is a plus.
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the USA without sponsorship.
