We are currently searching for a Product Development Engineer with strong experience in Creo to add to our Zeeland Engineering team.

Our DISHER Engineering and Design team utilizes the latest engineering practices and technology to ensure the functionality, durability and reliability so that a product not only looks good but works well – time after time after time. Our focus is to engineer robust products that are aesthetically pleasing, cost effective, able to be manufactured and profitable.
 
In this role there is a wealth of up-stream, early, ‘starting with a blank sheet’, product development work.  The ability to work closely with customers is key - that unique ability to take customer input and develop a design that can meet the customer’s needs while living the DISHER culture, adding two extra things and making a positive difference.
 
This engineering role in new product development requires both innovation and strong mechanical engineering experience.  Creativity is key.  While working on a cross-functional team with other disciplines such as marketing, manufacturing, and industrial design, excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.  Providing engineering design and analysis while having the chance, over time, to work on a wide variety of products in a wide variety of industries are also part of this role.  Prototyping parts and knowledge of manufacturing processes are important.  Background in plastic injection molding and metal stamping and forming are required. Experience in surfacing would be a plus.  Excellent work history and proven successes are essential.  Engineers that have patents, portfolios, overall excellence and innovative ideas are encouraged to apply.
 
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years in new product development and design engineering experience required
  • Qualified candidates will possess a minimum 4000 hours of Creo (Pro/E Wildfire) Solid modeling
  • Complex surfacing experience in Creo highly preferred
  • Experience with plastic part design required
  • Excellent understanding of mechanisms required
  • Furniture, Medical, and Automotive industry experience is preferred
  • Need to be ready to jump in to assist your teammates
  • Prior Customer interface experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to be innovative are required
  • The candidate should be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Seeking someone who loves to make a "Positive Difference" in the World
  • Prior skills in making excellent Coffee, preferred, but not required
  • Prior Nerf gun reloading experience is preferred, but not required
