Purchasing Manager - Bilingual

Purchasing Manager --  Holland, Michigan
DISHER is partnering with a local manufacturing company, in their need for a full-time Purchasing Manager for their facility in Holland, Michigan.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the purchasing, inventory and order processing of the plant including raw materials and other supplies with the goal of ensuring high quality materials are available at the optimal time and price. This role requires bilingual proficiency in Korean and English.
  • Lead purchasing and supply chain management strategic activities.
  • Negotiate, report and purchase from domestic and international vendors.
  • Selection, assessment and continuous development of new and existing suppliers.
  • Verification of suppliers’ compliance with the Key Performance Indicators.
  • Optimize negotiation of contracts, purchasing process, and shipping methods for purchased materials.
  • Document optimized supply chain process through work flows, cycle times, position responsibilities, and system flows.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by examining contents and comparing with records.
  • Prepare documents including work orders, bills of landing, and shipping orders to route incoming materials.
  • Update ERP system as necessary.  
  • Develop and monitor material cost forecasts.
  • Manage the team responsible for domestic and international purchasing, including hiring, development, performance evaluation and corrective action per company policies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Management or similar program.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in complex, international and domestic purchasing.
  • Automotive industry experience is required.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English is required.
  • Able to drive structural change in the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills.
