Product Engineer

Product Engineer - -  Spring Lake, Michigan  
Disher is partnering with a Michigan based furniture manufacturer in their need for a full-time Product Engineer for their facility in Spring Lake, Michigan
The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting existing and legacy product lines as well as supporting the plant operations and custom design functions of both company locations.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to make improvements in cost and quality.
  • Manage engineering and manufacturing change notices in support of existing products.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, data and records such as CAD, drawings or specifications.
  • Provide technical support for internal operations, suppliers and contractors.
  • Support and analysis associated with customer returns and quality failures.
  • Provide engineering analysis, feasibility and design in support of custom product requests.
  • Evaluate potential design changes such as FEA, fit, form, function and tolerance.
  • Champion industry compliance and product certification efforts.
  • Identify, perform, and track product testing activities and manage internal test lab and associated documentation.
  • Manage and perform duties as an administrator of CAD and PLM/PDM systems.
  • Create, submit, and maintain engineering budget associated responsibilities.
  • Perform tooling development, design and assess tool designs fo sub-suppliers as required.

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar program.
  •  5 years of engineering experience.
  •  Knowledge of lean principles as they relate to product development in manufacturing.
  • Able to learn a wide product portfolio with varying technical complexities.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and results oriented.
  • Able to perform complex problem solving using a disciplined and structured approach.
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the USA without sponsorship.
