We are looking for a self-starter with excellent project skills to join the DISHER Team as a Product Development Engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  This problem solver will have the opportunity to work in a variety of different industries, with different projects, products, and materials, with our area customers in Southeast Michigan.  If this sounds like you, we would like to start a conversation:

Responsibilities:
  • Apply the appropriate depth of discernment and judgment to effectively direct projects in evolving environments
  • Working side by side with Design Engineers
  • Interface with customers regularly
  • Provide expert technical leadership in coordinating, facilitating, motivating, and directing efforts of cross-functional product development teams
  • Retrieve coffee for one's self
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope
  • Assess design feasibility and provide DFM / DFA insight to the customer
  • Lead project design reviews
  • Nerf gun battles with your team to keep you alert and on your toes
  • Review deliverables prepared by the team before passing to the customer
  • Facilitate team and customer meetings by delivering information effectively
  • Ensure all activities associated with major project gates are completed and reviewed per schedule
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a product development / project engineering position required
  • Experience designing for plastic injection molding required
  • Product design and development experience required
  • Automotive and interior plastics experience prefered
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Must be able to reload a Nerf Gun in under 30 seconds
  • Candidate must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America for any employer without restrictions or expirations 


Rockstar Candidate:
  • Experience for several different product materials; plastics, metals, etc.
  • Prototyping experience
  • A demonstrated team-based and creative approach to problem solving
  • Experience in a role involving customer service
