Disher is partnering with a Michigan based automotive supplier company, in their need for a full-time Product Designer for their facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan
 
The Product Designer is responsible for the designing, testing and evaluating products to ensure performance and manufacturability. They will also be creating, editing and maintaining CAD models and support the development of design standards for new and existing products.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Create, edit and maintain SolidWorks models for current and new products, while maintaining GD&T discipline.
  • Provide technical support on product designs including, evaluating customer inputs, quality standards and manufacturing capabilities.   
  • Maintain and improve SolidWorks design standards.
  • Review and check work produced by customers, peers and suppliers.
  • Support the development of new products and the enhancement of existing products through prototyping, computer modeling, FMEA, DFM, etc.  
  • Assist other departments with CAD and design services.  
  • Support new product development projects, facility needs, and equipment design.
  • Coordinate with program management to support efficient and effective launches of new products and programs.  
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physical Science is required.  
           or
  • Associates degree in CAD with relevant job experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in product design using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Technical competency in CAD, GD&T, FMEA, DFM, ISO/TS, and IATF16949.
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the USA without sponsorship.
