Controls Project Manager

Disher is currently partnering with a global material handling and distribution company on their need for a Controls Project Manager in Grand Rapids Michigan. This person will be responsible for budget, schedule, manpower planning, equipment, functionality and performance of the controls portion of assigned projects, both in house and on site.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration with intercompany teams including Project Management, Systems Engineering, Installation Services, and Software.
  • Collaboration with, and support for, Sales, Applications Engineering and Lifetime Services
  • Optimum use of the product range and commissioning of all controls related products and services deviating from this product range.
  • Support Project Management with financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for controls engineering budgets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or  equivalent experience
  • Travel required up to 50% of the time.
  • Knowledge of PLC technology, prevailing bus technologies, drive and inverter technology.
  • Experience in logistics, material handling systems, and controls systems.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • 5+ years knowledge, understanding and experience in the following:
    • Software, controls project management skills - scope, budget, risk, change and schedule
    • Excellent Communication skills (oral and written)
    • Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, Reading Eplans and CAD
    • Team building and leadership skills
    • Supervisory skills for project team (task assignment, performance/resource management, motivation)
    • Problem solving, resolution and mitigation skills
