Disher is partnering with a Michigan based company, in their need for a full-time Mechanical Engineer for their facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to work in a variety of different industries, on innovative projects, products and materials with their customers.

What you will do:
  • Provide expert technical direction in coordinating, facilitating, motivating and directing efforts of cross-functional product development teams.
  • Work on a variety of projects and products in various industries.
  • Design product applications for specified projects and evaluate and develop methods to support the job.
  • Work alongside machinist on the floor to take product from design to production.
  • Responsible for the organization of highly complex activities for the design, development, and implementation of the projects.
  • Oversee the manufacturing of products and process optimization.
  • Interface and participate in customer and company meetings relating to the project.

What will help you succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of applicable design experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in CAD, preferably SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or Catia.
  • Hands on approach to product design, metal fabrication and machining experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PVM Programmable Vehicle Models (PVM).
  • Product Design and development experience is preferred.
  • A demonstrated team-based and creative approach to problem solving is preferred.
  • Passion for creating quality work and ensuring that the final product consistently exceeds expectations.
  • Flexible and open to the variety of projects that will be a part of this role.
  • Candidate must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America for any employer without restrictions or expirations
