Disher is partnering with a Michigan based prototyping company, in their need for a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer for their facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan. If you just really enjoy watching your designs come to life, this may be the perfect position for you.

What you will do:
  • Provide expert technical support in facilitating efforts of cross-functional product development teams.
  • Work on a variety of projects in a quick turn-around, fast paced environment.  
  • Design product applications for specified projects.
  • Partner with the team of machinists to take the product from design to production.
  • Organize highly complex activities for the design and development of the projects.
  • Interface and participate in customer and company meetings relating to the project.

What will help you succeed:
  • 3-5 years of recent design experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in CAD, preferably SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or Catia.
  • Hands on approach to product design, metal fabrication and machining experience.
  • Experience designing and building a vehicle buck or similar product is a plus.
  • A demonstrated team-based and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Passion for creating quality work and ensuring that the final product consistently exceeds expectations.
  • Flexible and open to the variety of projects that will be a part of this role.
  • Candidate must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America for any employer without restrictions or expirations
