Disher is partnering with a Michigan based company, in their need for a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer for their facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to lead and work on innovative projects, products and materials with their customers in a variety of industries.

What you will do:
  • Provide expert technical direction in coordinating, facilitating, motivating and directing efforts of cross-functional product development teams.
  • Work alongside machinist on the floor to take product from design to production.
  • Communicate with the team on product designs and development.
  • Responsible for the organization of highly complex activities for the design, development, and implementation of the projects.
  • Work on a variety of projects and products in various industries.
  • Oversee the manufacturing of products and process optimization.
  • This role will consist of 75% design and 25% leadership responsibilities.

What will help you succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associates Degree and equivalent experience.
  • 6-10 years of project management and engineering experience required.
  • Product Design and development experience, including experience in SolidWorks, is preferred.
  • Interest in leadership opportunities and willingness to lead by example and jump in when help is needed.
  • Passion for creating quality work and ensuring that the final product consistently exceeds expectations.
  • Flexible and open to the variety of projects that will be a part of this role.
  • Hands on approach to product design, metal fabrication and machining experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Vehicle Models (PVM) preferred.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office.  
  • Candidate must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America for any employer without restrictions or expirations.
