Disher is partnering with a Michigan based automotive supplier, in their need for a full-time Plant Manager for their facility in Rochester Hills, Michigan
 
The Plant Manager will serve customers with industry-leading quality and delivery performance while creating a safe, high performance culture for employees. In addition, they will maintain strong quality system discipline, consistent operational results and year over year improvements in productivity.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans for operational improvements by analyzing the value stream and targeting measurable improvements in labor efficiency, quality, yield, and equipment utilization.  
  • Maintain appropriate level of staff to meet business and budgetary goals and objectives. In times of variance, quickly develop action plans to remedy the situation.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indictors.
  • Support future workforce planning with training programs as well as employee development efforts.
  • Ensure there is a robust inventory management, scheduling and material handling system. Work with Supply Chain Manger to ensure discipline and enhancement of current system.
  • Work with Facilities and Maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient use of the building and equipment.
  • Work with the Process Engineering team on equipment improvements and qualifications.
  • Drive discipline and improvements to the Quality Management System, work with Corporate Quality team to support third party and customer audits.
  • Translate forecasted demand into accurate direct labor budges and indirect workforce plans to support the budgeting process.
  • Lead the plant leadership team and establish processes to measure operational performance and impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with program management to support efficient and effective launches of new products and programs.
  • Drive standards and support the development of subject matter and process in PLEX ERP system.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or similar field.
           Or
  • Equivalent experience and professional training.
  • 7+ years of experience in operations leadership role.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Skilled in leading people and managing projects, timelines and budgets.
  • Strong implementer of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Six Sigma or other statistical problem-solving skills.
  • Project management and capital budgeting experience preferred.
  • Familia with ISO/TS, IATF 16949 and PLEX ERP or equivalent software.
  • Must have current and continuing right to work in the USA without sponsorship.
