Controls Support Engineer

DISHER is currently partnering with a growing, global material handling and logistic solutions company in Grand Rapids, Michigan on their need for a Controls Support Engineer. This person must possess strong customer service and communication skills, along with technical knowledge in the area of Controls Engineering.


Responsibilities:
  • Take remote calls and resolve issues related to automated warehouse solutions.
  • Use the call tracking system to record customer calls, provide regular updates, and record the final resolution.
  • Participate in the on-site customer transitioning process to learn the system and environment in order to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Troubleshoot customer system errors and follow through until the issue is resolved.
  • Follow-up with root cause evaluation and resolution after the initial issues are corrected.
  • Establish and maintain organized documentation.
  • Maintain an accurate and timely customer service record and coordinate invoicing with the Finance Department.
  • Work with the Controls group to understand controls installations.
  • Coverage varies between days, nights and weekends as planned, well in advance within the team.


Qualifications:
  • Associates degree plus Controls experience - OR – Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or similar.
  • At least one year of equipment controls experience.
  • Understanding of controls systems (i.e. Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Strong relationship building skills with a high customer focus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Material handling experience, a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
