Global Supply Chain Specialist

DISHER is currently partnering with a global company in Norton Shores, Michigan on their need for a full-time, direct hire Global Supply Chain Specialist. This company specializes in sourcing metal castings, forgings, and fabrications from suppliers globally. As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will work closely with the VP of Global Supply Chain to execute assigned work, related to global sourcing and supply chain business analysis. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a desire to work with different cultures.

  • Develop strategic sourcing/outsourcing strategies and objectives, including best cost country sourcing, and cost reduction/profit improvement initiatives.
  • Perform business analysis on supply chain function.
  • Contribute to strategic project and contractual development, supplier identification, development, and performance improvement.
  • Develop strategic sourcing strategies for joint initiatives with global team.
  • Identify, understand, and maintain up-to-date information on global market supply/demand dynamics.
  • Analyze data and determine long and short-term impact on pricing and supply.
  • Develop strategic relationships with global suppliers.
  • Work on cross functional teams to establish product integrity, set priorities in cost saving opportunities, goals, performance, and delivery measures.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • At least one year of work experience as a Supply Chain Specialist in a metal manufacturing setting.
  • Excel guru.
  • Ability to identify cost reduction through data mining.
  • Data and results driven.
  • Ability to make decisions using data.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including international travel.
